Mandolin Orange makes music that WNYC describes as being “laced with bluegrass, country and folk…often wistful and contemplative without being somber, and always firmly grounded in the South.” The duo, comprised of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz, have just announced the May 5 release of Such Jubilee, their second studio album for Yep Roc Records.

Let's catch up!

Hey folks!

We're taking a breather at home between fall tours, and there's a lot of goodness to reflect on.

First and foremost, the eastern leg of fall tour was a blast!! Thank you to everyone who got tickets and came out to our favorite tour yet. It was an honor to get to play such nice rooms (Thalia Hall! 9:30 Club! Royale! The Orange Peel! to name a few...), and have your twinkling eyes and ears there to play for. We have such a badass crew to be thankful for, who make this operation smoother and more fun each time around.

We woke up a few days back to see that "Wildfire" has eclipsed 10 million streams on Spotify, which is incredible. It's cool to see that song making a small impact, and we're glad so many of you are spinning and sharing. Isn't that what social-media-streaming services are there for?! "Wildfire" was also just added to Spotify's "Roots of Change" playlist--good company of forward-pushing artists and tunes there.

Fall tour continues in just a week and a half with loads of western stops. It's our first trip to Alaska (!), and then some favorite and increasingly familiar western stops. We're excited to have California duo Mapache opening a few shows on the front end, and one of our favorite fiddler-singer-songwriters, Rachel Baiman, opening for the remainder of the western leg. Her debut solo album, Shame, was produced by Andrew, and came out in June on Free Dirt Records.

Our hearts are with everyone suffering from the wildfire destruction in California. We will get the word out as soon as we have any definitive news on our shows in the affected areas.

Check out the schedule below for more details.

See you in a couple of weeks!
